Always together, never far apart

Park 15   Proposition

is a sculptural work, entirely constructed from pine cones, collected from Wimbledon area and although pine trees do not originate from this parts of the country, they've been adopted and are now familiar part of the town greenery.

It is build by attaching cones together in to two spirals, closely spinning around each other. Visually is aiming to blend in to park surroundings rather then to interfere with it. It is aiming to examine the role that nature is playing in sustainability of all life existence on our planet. Cones, that would naturally be on the ground would gradually form two spiral shapes raising up.

The sculpture is up to two meters hight and takes one meter square of ground space. In the base of the structure are anchors, wooden pointed sticks. and metal wire if forming the skeleton to support the wait and the stability in the face of the weather elements such as wind and health safety issues.

The name was inspired by two benches from Herb garden in Cannizaro Park as a poetic expression about intertwine between our existence and natural environment.

Sculpture will be completed and in parts, ready for easier transport. Assembly at the park is estimated to completed in one day and I will organise help for transport and installation from one or two people. All pine cones will be fund and collected at no cost. Metal skeleton will be from 2mm wire and it will need to be shaped in the metal work shop. Estimated cost of the wire is no more then £ 20.00. Wooden anchors are estimated at £ 10.00 and total amount of £ 30.00 is funded by myself.

Special attention should be on the hight of the sculpture and it's stability.

This is the only potential health and safety issue and it will be carefully considered and measured. Implementation will be done according to requirements so that the foundation can support the weight and hight of the sculpture.
